Detailed Overview Of Euthanasia
[ send me this essay ]
6 pages in length. The concept of euthanasia is one that prevents terminally ill patients from having to endure one more moment of an artificial existence. Being kept alive through the intervention of drugs and other invasive treatments goes against the very grain of what is known as one's quality of life. In order to have quality of life, the patient must be in such a frame of mind and body where life is a pleasure and not merely a perpetual struggle. A person who is suffering from a terminal illness inevitably experiences many things that affect the daily routine. It is not long before the patient is forced to depend upon others to do many of the menial tasks that once were a simple part of everyday life. As this occurs, patients encounter feelings of worthlessness and inadequacy, believing that they have become a burden to those around them. Bibliography lists 7 sources.

Dilemmas with Artificial Insemination
[ send me this essay ]
A 16 page paper focusing on whether the child resulting from artificial insemination could sue for child support in the future. Artificial insemination is not a new concept. It has been used for years for couples who have not been able to conceive on their own; more recently single women are seeking motherhood through this route. Couples still represent 60 percent of sperm banks’ customers, but this statistic also reveals that 40 percent of their customers are single women. Purchasers of sperm sign contracts waiving any right to seek financial support in the future, but there is strong growth in artificial insemination that does not use the services of a sperm bank and is not protected from that claim. Further, laws are exercised according to interpretation at the time. If social values shift over time, then the contracts signed today could be ruled as being worthless in the future. It is not likely today that a donor will be held to be responsible for a child financially, but that could change in the future. Bibliography lists 11 sources. Includes a 1-page research proposal.

E-Health: Policies And Procedures To Protect Consumer Confidentiality
[ send me this essay ]
4 pages in length. The promise of patient empowerment, lowered costs and improved public health services heralds the notion of e-health as an option whose time has certainly arrived. The extent to which the extensive components of e-health serve to upgrade a health system in dire need of improvement is both grand and far-reaching; that e-health also poses a significant problem with regard to consumer confidentiality speaks to the grey area where it is definitively understood who is authorized to access consumer health-related information.
